The Chocó bio-region, also referred to by some as the Chocó-Darien, stretches from southern Panama to central Ecuador. Wedged between the Pacific Ocean coastline and the western foothills of the Andes mountain range, it enjoys a humid tropical climate and offers countless ecosystems along a broad altitudinal gradient, giving it an uncommon level of endemism. Naturalist discoveries, photo safaris, birdwatching trips or herpetological explorations – there’s no shortage of reasons to explore its every nook and cranny.
